Because you are camping in an open field, there is no protection at all from the elements. When we were camping, the average temperature was 90 degrees. With no shade, no trees, and flat land, it means that you are up very early to start the day because the area is so uncomfortably hot that it is impossible to do anything in the tent past 8am in the morning. There was rain and wind during our vacation. The wind ripped through the tents because there was no natural barrier. In addition, the sites are surrounded by motion-activated lights (or the lights were just not working properly). They kept turning on and off during the night. If you are in a tent, the light filters through it and it makes it difficult to sleep.

If you are looking for a place to go tent camping, this is NOT the place for you. The website's description and pictures are very misleading. The tent sites are on an open field, surrounded by RVs. You camp on a flat field that is right next to port-a-potties. The port-a-potties are disgusting. The men's room had less than 5 inches of clearance from the seat to the unpleasant mixture of feces and urine. The women's port-a-pottie was not much better. The stench that came from these two port-a-potties was awful and we had to move our tents as far away as possible from the area.

Had fun my first time there

This was not a pleasant experience in the least. We will not be camping here ever again. The price was not worth all of the troubles.

There is a pool and playground but not for kids

The only nice thing about this campsite was the older lady behind the desk. She was very nice in trying to accomodate our group of 12. She tried to help us as much as she could but her hands were tied due to the owners rules about the sites (one tent per area). There is a little pool there that was decent, especially in the heat. There is no access to the lakes from the site at all, unless you have a boat.

The fire pits are made from the rims of old tires. There are no grates in which to put your food. Thankfully we had brought a few grills just in case and we were able to use them. There is no running water that is nearby to use to wash dishes.

The regular bathrooms are a hike in the dark through bumpy gravel roads. The women's had one toilet that was broken. The first day someone in our party tried to use it, the toilet lurched to the left and dropped 2 inches to the side, effectively causing the person to almost fall off the toilet. That toilet also had one of the creepy soft-seat cushions - ew! The left toilet was working fine, as well as the sinks. The showers were absolutely disgusting. There was hair in them, and they had rubber mats. The shower is a push-button system, so you had to keep poking it to get the alternating hot and cold water to weakly push through the old shower heads. I did not get to see the men's room but I heard it was much of the same.
